I was late for a conference call with Brendan and Xavier Borderie, a French journalist. It was pouring and I was riding my scooter on the slippery paved streets of Paris with too little visibility. I was pretty sure that my jacket would not be waterproof enough and I would end up soaked. I knew I would have to take care of my two kids and feed them in between two conference calls tonight and make sure that they properly made their homework.

And then the clouds started to go away, the sun to shine, and the light was gorgeous. All of a sudden, I started enjoying my ride, and wished that I could share this with my friends and family.

Then I realized I had my point and shoot camera with me, so I managed to stop on the sidewalk (with my scooter, bad me!), and just took this picture :

And you know what? I made it before Brendan on the phone, as I was right on time, and the call went well. And there is a life lesson that I should try to remember: Happiness in my life should not be a function of the weather!
