There are many differences between Europe and the US, and the habit of wishing a happy new year is one of them. In the US, one should send cards before the end of the year, while in France and some other countries, wishing a happy new year before it starts is frown upon (so we have all January to send season greetings).
But the good news is that time difference will help me here, since I'm able to publish this after midnight (Paris time) while showing up on my colleagues' screens in the US before the end of the year. 
In any case, I wish all of you a wonderful year 2010. May it bring you joy, peace, health and satisfaction in what you try to achieve.

Et bien sûr, en Belgique comme en France, et même plus de trois heures après, c'est déjà l'année nouvelle, alors que les États-Unis n'y sont pas encore.
And of course, in Belgium as in France, and even more than three hours later, the new year has already begun, while the United States haven't yet reached it.
Happy New Year, bonne année, feliĉan novan jaron, een gelukkig nieuw jaar, ein glückliches neues Jahr, buon anno, feliz año nuevo, feliç any nou, feliz ano novo, urte berri on, с новым годом, etc. etc. etc... et en breton je ne sais pas comment ça se dit.

Bon bien, je l'aurai lu à une heure du matin, donc à 7 heures chez vous... zut, c'est trop tard!
Heureusement, au Québec, c'est un mélange des deux genres. On peut se souhaiter la bonne année avant, pendant ou après le jour de l'an, l'important, c'est de se la souhaiter!

Bonsoir.
Souhaiter la nouvelle année c'est une bonne occasion de dire merci pour le travail effectué et à venir, le blog, les réponses et questions qu'il apporte, en somme tout simplement d'être là. Il y a beaucoup de gens à qui on voudrait dire merci mais on ne peut pas, alors "une bonne année à tous" c'est un bon compromis je trouve !
