The recent Onestat study seems to be doing a lot of noise in the press. This study mentions that Firefox Preview Release, Firefox 1.0 and Mozilla 1.x account for 7.35% of users. In France, a company called Xiti has released very similar numbers, crediting Mozilla browser with 7.21% marketshare. Both studies mention that it's the first time in years that IE marketshare passes the 90% barrier, going south. This is noticed in the international press:
- Spanish daily El Mundo: Mozilla Firefox 1.0 araña el dominio de Internet Explorer,
- Belgian publication Data News: Le navigateur Firefox a le vent en poupe;
- German publication N-tv.de: Firefox klaut Microsoft Nutzer;
- French leading TV station TF1's website: Firefox grignote, grignote...;
- Canadian publication Techno-Sciences: Succès incontestable pour le navigateur libre Firefox;
- In the US, eWeek writes Another Survey Says Mozilla Up, IE Down.
- update: Dannish publication Politiken.dk: Mozilla vinder ind på Microsoft.
Meanwhile, the download counter just passed the 6 millions mark. Wow!
